SURVEY
Together, We Made a Difference.
Thank You!

In early 2020, the epidemiology of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 disease was very misunderstood, particularly the roles of asymptomatic individuals in virus transmission. We implemented the Waco COVID Survey to assess the relationships among risk factors and asymptomatic transmission in McLennan County, Texas. Across one year, we conducted four waves of targeted serological surveillance, collecting valuable data on demographics, health behaviors, health biomarkers, and attitudes toward the pandemic.
Thanks to nearly 500 community volunteers, we have published numerous studies and presented key findings, such as the importance of face coverings, the impact of vaccinations, and insights into pandemic fatigue and even political influences on health behaviors. This project remains one of the largest longitudinal SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence surveys in the United States.
